The qod program (and its gui):

• performs multiple genome comparisons
• provides both a graphical overview of the similarities and detailed view of the fragments/features' alignments
• does not need a completely assembled genome: a concatenation of contigs can be analysed
• exports annotations in standard formats
• can manage compressed files (to save disk place)
• accepts several input formats
• exploits multi-core computer architectures in a transparent manner (i.e., you do not have to worry about it)
• computation is fast.
